Rotary Leadership Institute – District 6980
At RLI, we deliver Rotary knowledge and leadership development perspective for Rotarians to lead their clubs and professional lives
Rotarian Andres Goyanes is the 2023-2024 District Director for the Rotary Leadership Institute. Andres is an RLI graduate and a certified RLI Facilitator in Rotary District 6980 with experience as an Adjunct Professor and Public Speaker.
Rotary District 6980 is a member of the Rotary Leadership Institute Sunshine Division, training and developing Rotarians across the Southeastern US.
The development of effective and competent leaders is a strategic goal for every organization and Rotary District 6980 is committed to creating opportunities for current and future leaders to grow in knowledge and perspective.
Did you know…? RLI welcomes active members of Rotary and Rotaract who are interested in developing the knowledge that can help them grow in their journey in the district.
The Rotary Leadership Institute at District 6980 organizes 2-3 leadership development seminars every year, attracting over 150 Rotarians who spend a day learning about Rotary, its dynamics, leadership structure, membership development strategies, and also how The Rotary Foundation serves our district and the world with district and global grants.
The curriculum of the Rotary Leadership Institute is geared to the development of leadership roles to include:
- District Chairpersons
- Club Presidents
- Club Secretaries
- Club Treasurers
- Membership Chairs
- Rotary Foundation Chairs
- Service Project Chairs
- Public Image Chairs
- Programming Chairs
- Youth Services Chairs
Rotarians in these leadership roles often bring their knowledge and experience as professionals into the complexity of managing a club or a district role—and RLI fills the gaps with Rotary history, operations, and procedural knowledge to help them become proficient and excel in their volunteer roles as community leaders.
If you are a Rotarian interested in attending the Rotary Leadership Institute, contact your current Rotary Club President or Secretary to let them know of your interest. Depending on the bylaws of your Rotary Club, attendance to RLI may be reimbursed by some clubs.
