The Rotary Youth Exchange helps young men and women experience global collaboration and understanding in a year-long adventure abroad.
Rotary is all about exchanging ideas with people of other cultures, religions, customs, and languages. The Rotary Youth Exchange program provides this experience to a select group of outbound students every year. Acceptance into the RYE program is limited and requires students to prepare for a panel interview, after which candidates are selected. After selection, the preparation process starts one year ahead of their program start.
Participation in the RYE program is open to high school students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and it is not limited to the children of Rotarians, which ensures that the opportunity can reach ANY student in Central Florida’s District 6980.
Students who participate will enjoy these amazing experience:
- Live with a Host Family in their designated RYE country
- Develop life-long friendships with fellow RYE students
- Learn and become fluent in a foreign language
- Develop an understanding for other cultures and customs
- Create a foundation for a life of global awareness and understanding
Most Rotary Clubs have a designated Youth Exchange Services Chairperson, who is also a liaison to the Rotary Youth Exchange Program and can answer questions about the application process. We encourage parents to consider the RYE Program as an opportunity to help their children develop valuable interpersonal skills ahead of their college career.
