Welcome to Rotary in Central Florida
Rotary in Central Florida is a Community Information Center for people to learn about what our Rotary Club collective does in our community
Rotary District 6980 is paving the way in creating new solutions to benefit Central Florida Rotarians. Following the challenges our Hospitality and Service Industries faced in 2020, our Leadership Team created a Career Center initiative to help Rotarians find a job or change careers. Little did we know that this would now evolve into a larger effort in Rotary Zones 33-34 and it has now been branded as Rotary Works.
Learn more about Rotary Works by watching the introductory video by District Governor Mike Vernon or read about it in our News Section of Rotary Central Florida.
We are engaged members of the community who participate as members of local Rotary Clubs, volunteering to deliver Service Above Self.
Rotarians are People of Action who see opportunity where others see challenges–working together to find solutions through collaboration.

Welcome to Rotary Central Florida.
I am Mike Vernon, and I am honored and pleased to serve as the Rotary District Governor for 2020 – 2021.
Rotary is a membership organization of volunteers focused on leadership and service in local communities and internationally.
There are over 1.2 million Rotarians located in countries throughout the world. In Central Florida, we have nearly 1,900 members in our 48 clubs in the five counties of Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Sumter.
Annually, we provided over 1 million dollars in support of our local and international communities. Some of our recent projects include the following:
• Scholarships, educational programs and supplies for students
• Youth programs
• Support of local food banks
• Help for who are impoverished
• Environmental clean-up programs
• Disaster relief programs in the Bahamas, Georgia, the Carolinas, and locally in Florida
• Clean water programs in Haiti
• Cleft lip and palate programs in Mexico, Peru, and Bolivia
• School construction in Ethiopia
• Grand Bahama fishermen’s boat upgrades
• Fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic
• Eradicating Polio throughout the world
The Rotary International theme this year is Rotary Opens Opportunities and our District theme is Friendship.
Rotary Central Florida is an active, vibrant, and exciting place to be!
We hope you will join us and take advantage of all of the opportunities that Rotary provides and become a treasured part of our family of friends.
See you at a meeting soon!
